How does it work?
Pulses of light energy which cause the blood within the vein to coagulate destroy the vessel which is later reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin's surface, where it should be. Small, facial veins (or "telangiectasia") can be treated quickly without bruising or complication. During your consultation, Christine will advise you about expected results.

Tell me about the treatment
Most patients experience a stinging sensation as the pulses of energy are delivered through the handpiece. Although no local anaesthesia or pain medication is usually required, some opt to have a topical numbing gel prior to treatment. Following treatment, the pain is minimal to non-existent. Often, patients find that one or two treatments are sufficient though this depends on the number, colour, and size of the vessels being treatments. Following your treatment, some redness or bruising may occur and when larger veins are treated, a tan or brownish pigment may persist for a few weeks or months. Very few side effects are reported, possibly a little reddening or localised swelling which last for around 24 hours. We recommend you avoid strenuous activity for the first 24 hours, and as always, sun exposure should be limited.
